Values
In today’s world there is an endless supply of large corporations monopolizing the world market, taking advantage of vulnerable populations, paying employees as little as possible, and damaging the environment through careless manufacturing processes.
The apparel industry especially is well known for its less than ethical practices. Fast fashion has brought about a plethora of stories about sweatshops, child labor, and waste. While things have gotten better in recent years, much of the clothing in stores today has unknown origins, which likely means the story isn’t pretty.
There are also unethical practices hiding in places we may not think to consider. For example, at the beginning of the crypto-currency boom, few people suspected its unsustainable energy usage. Now we know that there are ways to do digital activities right, and many, many ways to do it wrong.
Kwindie seeks to oppose these issues by forming the foundation of its systems on strong values, rather than a “profit at all costs” mentality.
Transparency
Transparency in business means being open and straightforward about business practices, as well as mistakes. Kwindie recognizes that being perfect is impossible, and trying to appear so is unethical. Businesses are built by humans, and humans make mistakes. Transparency builds trust, which seems harder and harder to come by these days.

Flexibility
New research comes out frequently, and what we know to be sustainable or ethical today may change tomorrow. It’s important to keep up-to-date, rather than hold to existing principles in order to appear consistent.
Sustainability
Kwindie strives to follow the most environmentally conscious practices possible, while still offering customers the quality and variety of products they need, at a price they can afford. While it is the hope that someday sustainable options will be equally accessible to all, the reality is that currently these products are more expensive than their conventional counterparts. Kwindie is putting effort toward helping create demand for more sustainable materials, offering sustainable options in addition to any conventional products requested, where available.
