Graphic Design

Branding is important.

Your brand is your first impression; your aesthetic can draw people in or push them away. The style of your logo can imply an atmosphere; casual, professional, minimalist, modern, playful, creative, edgy, posh, or luxurious. When creating your brand, it’s helpful to consider not only the aesthetics involved, but also the potential uses of your branding. For example, while all styles of artwork may look good when printed on paper or used online, not all styles will work with screen printing or embroidery. It is important for your graphic designer to have the expertise required to make sure your design will look great in all applications, or be able to adapt your logo for those purposes later on.

Trini is skilled at creating simple striking designs and logos which fit your intended aesthetic, while also accommodating any decoration method you may choose.

For more complex designs or to achieve a specific style, a trusted outside graphic designer may be brought in to assist with your project. These designs will be carefully reviewed to ensure their decorative versatility.

Artwork can be provided in any file type of your choosing (default is an editable vector PDF)

  • Vector: .ai, .eps, .svg, .pdf
  • Image: .jpg, .png (solid or transparent background)

Pricing

Working on a merch project? Most artwork services are included in your quote.

These include:

  • Text (in varying pre-made fonts and letter sizes)
  • Simple shapes
  • Vector tracing of previously created designs from high quality image files (required for some decoration methods)
  • Layout of existing design elements or stock vectors (pre-created design elements)
  • Formatting artwork for different decoration methods

Creating complex designs may incur an additional fee (which is always quoted beforehand).

Stand-alone graphic design services:

Approximate starting prices are below, however please note that all artwork requires discussion prior to establishing the actual cost for your particular needs. Initial consultations are always free!

  • Production artwork: $25-$600+
(tracing, adjusting, and/or recreating existing logos and designs to be suitable for a specific decoration method)
  • Brand guidelines document: $50-$200+
    • Brand guides typically include the rules around using your brand to maintain consistency of representation.
    • Your brand guidelines document will show all variations of your logo(s) and in what context each variation may be used, colors and fonts allowed to be used in reference to your company (or group), rules around who can use your logos without asking specific permission (especially handy for non-profits), and any other rules you may choose to set.
  • Printable or editable PDF file templates: $25-$200+
(for letterhead, business cards, contracts, etc.)
  • Branded email signatures: $25-$50+

What does the design process look like?

For the merch project related design process, check out the merch page!

Standalone design work (not tied to a merch project)

  1. Initial Consultation
For straightforward designs this is often done through email. I’ll ask questions about what you want, when you need it, what you’ll be using it for, etc. For more complex designs I may request a phone call or video chat.
  2. Proposal Approval
Once we’ve pinned down the details, I’ll email you a proposal, including the number of concepts and revisions you will receive, a quote, and the anticipated timeline. Quotes are all-inclusive except in the rare occasion a font or graphic needs to be purchased. If something like that comes up, I will email an updated quote and wait for your approval before proceeding.
  3. Deposit Payment
The up front deposit is typically 50% of the total expected cost, and is non-refundable.
  4. Your design draft(s) begin!
Keep an eye on your email for additional questions from me. While I work on the design I often find more information I need, or want your opinion on which of a few options you like better. It helps speed things along to have this feedback throughout the process.
  5. Design submitted to you for review and feedback
The number of revisions allowed under your quote is specified in the proposal. Revisions include changes to the existing design, not starting completely over from scratch.
  6. Final Payment
Once you are happy with your design, an invoice will be sent to you for the remaining cost of your project.
  7. Finished design files are sent to you
Once your final invoice is paid, I will send you all file types you may need for your specified uses, as well as the editable vector in case you ever need it.

Live collaborative design sessions

Avoid the email back-and-forth process to get your design just right! Schedule a live session where, through screenshare, we create your design together in real-time.

Current live session rate: $50 per hour (1 hour minimum)

  1. Initial Consultation
This can be done through email, a phone call, or video chat. I’ll get a basic understanding of what you want done, any timelines that need to be met, what your design will be used for, etc.
  2. Sign Contract and Pay Non-Refundable Deposit
I’ll email you a contract to sign, along with an invoice to pay. The deposit is for the first hour in most cases.
  3. Schedule an Appointment
I will provide a scheduling link where you can select the times that work best for you. I usually schedule 2 hours at a time in case we need more than one hour.
  4. We have our live design session!
Please note that the clock starts at the start time of our session, so don’t be late!
    • Efficiency tips:
      • Be in a location with reasonably fast internet, limited background noise, and with a microphone tested in advance. If you have physical items to show me, have a good webcam plugged in and ready to go.
      • Use a computer, laptop, or tablet with as large a screen as possible so you can clearly see the design as it is being created. Phones are not ideal for these sessions.
  5. Schedule additional sessions if needed
If we did not finish in our first 1-2 hour session, we can schedule another.
  6. Pay final invoice
Any additional time not yet paid for will be invoiced after completion of our last session.
  7. Finished design files are sent to you
Once your final invoice is paid, I will send you all file types you may need for your specified uses, as well as the editable vector in case you ever need it.
